Delivered new on May 30, 1975, in Holland, this BMW 2.8 L saloon was finished in an elegant "Fjord" blue metallic color. It was equipped with light alloy rims, as well as an automatic gearbox. Belonging to its second owner, it has been completely restored in recent years and the result is exceptional. Its restoration has also cost much more than the value of the high estimate at which this flagship of the brand in the 70s is presented. It is sold with its service logbook duly stamped, its user manual and the list of BMW dealers in Europe at the time. It also includes its tool kit which is 95% complete, a sign of serious preservation, and constitutes an interesting opportunity to acquire one of the first versions of a BMW sedan with a 6-cylinder engine, a significant progression for the brand towards the enviable status which it has today. Indeed, launched in 1968, the first 2500 ("E3") sedan was a major step for the brand, taking up the codes of the "Neue Klasse" but with a 6-cylinder engine which projected it to a higher market segment, and which would be made available in several engine sizes and power outputs, as well as coupé body styles, which will make the brand famous on the road and on the circuit. With its four-headlamp grille, it had a sporty look that was complemented by luxurious equipment. This 2.8 L sedan is a superb representative of this model range thanks to the impressive work carried out on it. A must see during the exhibition.
